Cache La Poudre Middle School11.26拉科vs毕尔巴鄂
Dear Pirate Parents/Guardians,
It was so wonderful to see you all this week as you came to pick up laptops and schedules. Thank you all for your patience as we worked through the process of initial logins to start the school year. I know it is a lengthy process, and you were all so marvelously supportive and understanding. We highly recommend that sometime today or tomorrow you have your child:
- Restart their computer and log in again
- Check logins to Student Vue, PSD email, Google Classroom, and Microsoft Teams again
- Double check class schedules on Student Vue Sunday night
- Call 488-7409 with any technology questions
There is a lot of helpful information in this email, so please take time to read all of it.
Student Expectations: Please find in this email the Student Behavior Expectations. We have kept the original document we use when students are in the building. Anything that is not applicable for remote learning is crossed out, and any addendums for remote learning are highlighted in green. These can also be found on the school website.
August 24th for 6th graders-WEB Day: This day is specifically designed to help 6th graders transition to middle school. Many adjustments have been made to help them transition to middle school during remote learning. You will receive an email specifically about WEB day tomorrow. If you have any technical difficulties, please call Ms. Bell at 488-7409. If she does not answer because she is on another call, call the front office at 488-7400 and leave a message. Someone will reply to you ASAP.
August 24th for 7th and 8th graders: Because our staff will be working with 6th graders to help transition them, classes will not be in person this day. 7th and 8th graders need to check the google classrooms of their green day classes (periods 1-6) and complete all required assignments.
August 25th-FIRST DAY of Microsoft Teams classes for all students. All students will begin the day at 8am in 8th period and then follow the schedule of their White Day classes. Students will log in to Teams, click on their 8th period class, and click the blue Join button to enter the classroom. It would be a good idea to check their class schedule on Student Vue or Parent Vue Sunday night just to make sure there are no changes from the printed schedule. If you have any technical difficulties, please call Ms. Bell at 488-7409. If she does not answer because she is on another call, call the front office at 488-7400 and leave a message.
Joining Teams classes: In Teams, classes are named: Teacher Last Name, Period #, Class Name.
The teacher starts class with the white Meet button on top right hand corner. Once the teacher starts class, students will see a blue Join button to hit and then a blue Join Now button. If students go to a class and the blue Join button is not there, it is because the teacher has not started it yet. All students have the capacity to video chat with their friends at any time on Teams. We recommend you treat their laptops just as you do any other electronics with time limits, checking what they do, and having them share their log in with you. You can click on this link https://www.wevideo.com/view/1799434786 to see a short video showing how this is done.
Attendance: Attendance will be taken at the beginning of the period every day. Teachers will record attendance by the end of every class period. You will be able to see if your child has attended class by checking Parent Vue just as you would have done previously. Students will be marked tardy if they are not present during roll call when class begins on the hour. Friday attendance will work differently because students are not “in” class. They will have work to do independently. There will be something for students to submit for every class on Friday to show their attendance. Teachers will need to review that work and log attendance on Mondays as they have meetings on Fridays. Therefore, attendance for Fridays will be posted by 4pm on Mondays. If you child is not able to attend school, please call the attendance line at 490-3087 to report the absence.
Date and Time items are posted:
- By 8am every Monday, teachers will update their Teacher Learning Page with a one sentence description of what is occurring in each of their classes for the week.
- Daily assignments will be posted by end of the class period that day for students to complete in the afternoons.
- Friday’s work will be posted by 8am on Fridays.
Teacher Learning Pages: Teachers all have Learning Pages which is the best place for parents to start to access teacher emails and the sites they use. Those Learning Pages are in a link on the left side bar of the school website for you to easily access. They also have a Grade Level Learning Page with grade level grading procedures and policies and other student learning expectations. These will be available by Monday the 24th.
- We are developing a plan for students to pick up supplies, textbooks, and library books once a week. This will come in a separate email.
We have attached the Spark document from last week’s email with important information for you to see again if needed.
Thank you for your partnership as we continue to work together to make this year a success.
